A quick reflection on the summer

The amount of travel that i’ve done over the summer along with the projects that i’ve been responsible for has made the summer fly by very quickly. I’ve visited some old friends, some for the first time in over 14 years, made some new ones, did some wonderful guest teaching with the Bushwackers Drum and Bugle Corps, all while plugging away with my big marching band projects at Tulane and at Hermiston.

This weekend will mark my last trip for the summer, going out to San Francisco to participate in the Festival of Contemporary Music where my piece Timpani Forces is being performed. I’m excited to have it programmed and be a part of some great contemporary music.

After that’s completed, i’ll be deep in the throes of the TUMB band camp which will officially mark the end of a whirlwind summer. Hopefully next summer will be as busy with projects, but less difficult on the finances. :) Lots of love to everyone who i saw over this summer, and hopefully will see in the not-too-distant future.
